millercarlin.com

Trevor Stewart, active in WISSOTA racing as sponsor of the organization’s Rookies of the Year, died March 18 after collapsing during an exercise workout. The Big Lake, Minn., resident was 52.

Stewart’s GTX Garage Tech X-Treme also sponsored the Structural Buildings WISSOTA Challenge Series Rookie of the Year honors for several seasons. The tour’s title sponsor was founded by the Stewart family and is guided by Stewart’s brother, Chad.

Growing up at local dirt tracks, Trevor Stewart was often involved in short-track racing and briefly operated an American Speed Association asphalt racing team from his father’s St. Augusta, Minn., shop.

Besides Chad, survivors include Trevor’s wife Amanda and four children. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud, Minn.; services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Help of Christians Catholic Church in St. Augusta, Minn. (with visitation prior beginning at 9 a.m.).
